Santana still rocks
Steve Winwood did a great job as the opening act. His voice is still good after so many years. They played only a couple of songs from Santana III which is one of their best albums. Would liked to have heard more from the bass player, especially on Black Magic Woman. The rest of the band seemed new but they all did a great job. There were quite a few people on stage, and there were a couple of times where it was a bit much. Carlos once again confirmed he is a true master of the art. Raul Rekow is still with Carlos on congas after many years of touring. They were very tight and played well together. All in all, it was a great concert. Carlos has so much material, it's hard to pick. The band had great energy and you could feel it. Would like to have heard Toussaint L'Overture and No One To Depend On. The two vocalists did a great job. Keyboard player was very good. A lady Carlos introduced as Cindy came out and did an awesome drum solo. Santana still sounds current no matter what he plays. Adolescentes Orquesta played a great show too, but I must say I prefer their older material. Some of the newer stuff is a little too pop for me. Carlos plays with such style, grace, and conviction. Much better I must say than when we saw Chicago and The Doobie Brothers a few weeks ago.
